Who We Are

As the name of our center suggests, we are a program that is designed to offer Spanish All Year Round for children from 2 to 12 years of age.

Our team of teachers is made up of native speakers from Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Mexico, Spain and Venezuela. We offer open enrollment throughout the year and have ways to facilitate an easy adjustment into our groups. We believe that children benefit from developing long term relationships with peers as a way to make this an educational experience that transcends learning. Our regular school program starts in September and graduates in June. For the summer, we offer a fun and exciting six week program, from the second week in July to the third week in August. Classes meet once a week for forty five minutes for the younger children. For ages, 4 to 12 classes meet once a week for one hour and we offer two-hour classes.

Our Program

"Salsa Babies" ( 2 months to 12 months)
Dance your way back into shape with the best little partner of all, your baby! Fun salsa steps for mom and baby. Suitable for all levels of fitness and dance experience. Bring your own carrier.

"Salsa Tots" (12 months to 48 months)
Designed for an older child who has outgrown the carrier and is ready to dance on their own feet. This parent-and-tot class is full of fun, tropical songs and steps for toddlers, though walking is not a pre-requisite. We combine movement and play with instruments and toys.

"Together en Español (2,3 and 4 Year Olds)
Is a 45 minutes full immersion program, where parents or caregivers are given the tools to be an important part of their child's learning experience. We don't use English translations…We only speak Spanish, so brush up your Spanish from High school, or just come with a clean slate…and follow the teachers instructions, repeat, repeat, and have fun, dance and sing en Español

"Spanish Preschool for Nursery, Preschool and Kindergarden" (3, 4 and 5 Year Olds)
This program is offered for nursery, preschool and kindergarten age children, once or twice a week for two hours, as a way to maximize exposure to the language and as an enhancement to children's preschool experience.

"All about Me Program (6 - 7 Year Olds)
At this stage the children continue to develop their repertoire in Spanish and get prepared to transition into a more culture based curriculum.

"My Friends & Me Program (8-9 Year Olds)"
At this level, the children begin to experience with cultural facts and artifacts from the Spanish Speaking world.

"The World & Me Program(10-12 Year Olds)"
Children will be exposed to cultural information that incorporates products and practices that build a foundation of the perspectives of the culture. At this stage, we will guide our students to compare cultures and help them develop a deeper and more personalized understanding of the Spanish culture and their own.

Our Full Immersion Approach:

At Spanish All Year Round we believe that full immersion is the key to a successful program. Children have the opportunity to develop listening and speaking abilities from day one and are able to further develop their reading and writing skills in the older age groups. All activities are conducted in Spanish; and from the very beginning children start to internalize the language in a very natural way.

With Early Language Acquisition parents often wonder when is the right time to introduce their child to a new language?  The answer is now. When language acquisition begins early, it can go on longer, provide more practice and experience leading ultimately to greater fluency.

Why should my child learn another language?

This answer depends on the parents own background and personal experiences. Some parents would like to preserve their heritage, while others would like to enhance their children's cultural experience by exposing them to a new language.

How do children learn languages?

The answer is that young children do not need to learn languages, they acquire them. Young children's brains have the plasticity that allows them to internalize an experience that is meaningful.

As a result, at Spanish All Year Round, we believe that time exposure; instruction and consistency create the best recipe for accomplishing mastery of any language.
